Community Connections

Ages 4-10 I 9:00AM - 1:00PM I Play Camp

Our Community Explorers Play Camp, led by Mr. Cody at Clover Exploration, is an indoor-based adventure where children connect with the heart of our downtown and the people who make our small Rutland city so special. Through creativity, hands-on experiences, and neighborhood walks, campers will discover local businesses, meet community heroes, and build a sense of belonging in the place they call home.

Each 5-day Play Camp is designed to feel like a true childhood experience; filled with movement, creative exploration, meaningful connection, and real-world discovery. While our home base for this camp is indoors at our downtown location, children will head out on supervised walking trips to explore nearby spaces, observe how our community works, and learn from the people in it.

Throughout the week, children will engage in:

  • Visits to local downtown businesses and community spaces

  • Special guests and community helpers visiting our building

  • Hands-on creative projects inspired by what they see and learn

  • Movement activities, games, and collaborative play

  • Opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and confidence-building

Our play-based approach supports the development of strong social-emotional foundations. As children meet new people, ask questions, share ideas, and explore their surroundings, they build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the community around them. These shared experiences help develop the communication and relationship skills that support success in school and in life.

This camp is primarily indoors, with regular neighborhood walks throughout the week. Children should wear comfortable shoes for walking and bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch each day.

Community Connections is more than a camp; it’s a chance for children to feel connected, valued, and proud of where they live while building relationships, exploring new places, and experiencing the joy of learning through real-world experiences!
